DIY Applesauce Freezee Pops

We traveled twelve hundred hours by car from Detroit, MI to Duluth, MN and I was really concerned that there wouldn’t be many places to stop to eat driving through Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. The way my kids feast non-stop I topped off our cooler with as much food and snacks to eliminate the, “I’m hungry” growls from the backseats.

I wanted to take applesauce on our road trip but I only had a big jar of applesauce instead of individual cups. I had to figure out how to create individual servings that transport easy and are not messy so this is how I decided to create my own Applesauce Freezee Pops to go.

Warning: the directions are really short.

Fill 2 1/2″ X 10 Cello Bag (pretzel bags) with Mott’s Applesauce using the aid of a funnel and seal the top with a Food Saver. Freeze until ready to eat.

Simply takes minutes to create!

DIY Applesauce Freezee Pops are perfect for hot days, parties, lunchboxes, and road trips. Don’t forget to bring along a pair of scissors to cut the top off to eat.

Even if the applesauce is unthawed by the time it’s eaten it is still delicious as well as a fun way to snack on a healthy treat!

This satisfied all of my kids and they really enjoyed eating them right out of the cooler slushy. Of course, it was the first snack to be eaten because it was new and fun to eat.

I hope you give it a try. Let me know how they turn out and in the meantime, Pin it to one of your Pinterest boards (it’s open to everyone now) so you will be able to come back and make DIY Applesauce Freezee Pops for your kids.

I’d love it if you would follow me on Facebook, Pinterest or by email subscription. Even better, share my blog with your friends!
