We found Buddy hanging out on our globe this morning. Perhaps, an indication that his first flight to the North Pole was successful!
Buddy has really stirred up some excitement in our house. I would even go as far to say that he has reached celebrity status around here. He is the topic of many conversations. I have caught two of my kids whispering to him before bed and even caught one crazy kid showing off for Buddy in the form of a cool dance.
Our magical weekend was topped off with a sweet visit to Santa. Sometimes he knows the perfect things to say to just the right child. It was confirmation in their eyes that Santa knows everything. He reinforced to continue doing well in school and gave a little pep talk why it’s so important to help your parents around the house. However, he instinctively knew which child to put emphasis on and which chores! Thus the results at home were incredible. Homework and projects were being cranked out without reminding and those helpful hands helped fold grocery bags, break down cereal boxes and recycled in the appropriate bin and the final leaf pile was raked and bagged. Help was extended to dad to hang Christmas lights outside but instead they were rewarded with time to shoot some hoops.
Lastly, I was just informed at bedtime that a special letter & picture is in the living room for Buddy to take back to the North Pole with him tonight. In fact, they even, conveniently, turned the letter into a backpack by cutting two strips of paper and taping them to the back of the paper to create backpack straps for Buddy. Where there is a will, there is a way!
