LOVE all your elf posts! Curious how you get Buddy to stay on things without kids being able to tell? I saw your ceiling fan post and really wondered there since we’ve tried to do similar things with ours and can’t seem to get it right! You’ve totally inspired me this year. Thanks!
Thanks, Sara!
Buddy hung on a screw, which protrudes about 1/4 inch, from the ceiling fan with no assistance. Since his arms were behind his head, I just hung him from the screw squeezing his hands to be more secure.
However, I have clipped the thread holding his hands together and once positioned, such as from the arms of a ceiling fan or from a shower curtain rod, I have re-sewn his hands back together for a secure night in place. Clear thread is a good alternative if you think your smart cookies might see it. There have been times that I have run interference, giving him a quick fix, before the kids wake. Other than that, I haven’t used anything else. I’ll experiment with double stick tape and some other materials this season and see how effective that is holding him through the night.
