I can’t tell you how many times I have been in a situation where I have initiated the classic “telephone” game amongst adults and children. You remember how it is played. Everyone sits in a circle or around a table and one person starts the game off by whispering a complicated “line” to the first child next to them. Listen carefully as the second player whispers the story to the third. The story is then repeated in whispers by the players until the last player in line has heard it. The last player in the circle says the line out loud to everyone as they heard it. You will burst into laughter when you hear how the original message became so garbled. The more garbled, the message the funnier it becomes. Now my children initiate this game. It is a wonderful quick way to spice up a play date, game night, or a family get together!
My favorite two “telephone” line starters are: “dad wears sneakers in the pool” or “dad runs like a girl.” This is just how our house rolls with humor. Always making someone laugh at pure nonsense. So I am very interested in the new game I just learned about.
It is called TELESTRATIONS which is a play off the classic Telephone game we love.
Telestrations is a fun family or party game that involves drawing the word rather than whispering it.
It’s easy to play. Player 1 gets a words and tries to draw it. Player 2 tries to decipher that drawing and tells Player 3. Players draws the second description. And so on.
Will the last description be the same as the first? Recommended ages is 12 and Up. Made by USAopoly. Telestrations can be ordered from Edufuntoys.com for $29.95 and usually ships in 24 hours.
