Scent-sational Children

Young children always want to be like their mommy and daddy. They even want to smell like us. So every now and then my boys would get a squirt or dab of daddy’s cologne on the way to church or special events. It didn’t happen often but one morning I certainly knew that one of my boys hit the cologne bottle all by himself because I could literally see his fumes and smell him from a mile away (no exaggeration). Our coughing and gasping only meant one thing for him – a shower before we’d let him get in the car!

To avoid that situation again, I save the free paper cologne samples that come in magazines and in the mail. When little girls or boys want to scent up they can rub one of the paper samples on their wrists without the fear of breaking a bottle, spilling or in our case overdoing the cologne or perfume! It’s easy to apply and they will feel like a rock star still smelling like mom or dad!

Some people, especially children, have sensitive skin so this activity may not be safe for all children’s skin types.

Another fun alternative is to keep the paper samples in your own dresser drawer to lightly scent your clothes. It’s free and scent-sational!

Have your children broken a bottle of perfume or cologne? Have they dowsed themselves in your lavishly expensive scents?
